For all my classes – and adjunct and SLOA work as well - I would use a Wiki for sharing.
Computer Science Applications:
The purpose of a Wiki in my CSA-127 Class (Advanced MS Office) would be to capture notes for class (personal section); I would have students create and share their notes for each week/lesson. I would create a ‘study applications’ section for students to add best practices that they could then use for their final projects.
The content would be:
– Teacher Notes – this would be bullet points of topics covered each week.
· Week one – Styles in MS Word
· Week two – Using the Developer Tab
· Wiki Nature – Information and criteria (read rules) for using the Wiki
-- Student Notes
· Student-created notes page – students add to/correct notes from each week.
· Students could also add instructions and ideas for easier/faster ways to use features
· Could include misconceptions or misunderstood items that I could then address in class.
-- Collaboration Page – a public/class page for posting ideas for final projects – again best practices
-- Journaling (Private) – for students to self-reflect on learning – a log of their progress.
Student Expectations to the Wiki:
· Students would be given a bulleted lists of assignment topics each week. They would post notes on the Student Notes page each week for points. Notes would not have to be extensive; just what they felt they learned in that week’s class. Students could address misconceptions that occurred
· Students would be part of a group and given points for posting group projects (you can tell if someone is not doing their part!). Their presentations would be posted to the wiki.
· Students would be expected to keep a self-evaluation journal (private access) with a minimum number of posts.
For SLOA and Adjunct Faculty- Well, lots of fun here – In fact, I’m going to start a SLOA one during this class. I’ll keep you posted.

You'll see more stuff that you ever wanted to know on the Personal tab!
